Good times

I've been enjoying myself a lot recently.

Despite the ever increasing workload and the college atmosphere that is suffocating, almost, I have been able to relax during the weekends. Mainly due to me not worrying about anything else and just procrastinating. (What I do best) Just this weekend I went to see a marvelous, marvelous student choreographed Dance Concert that was unbelievable beyond words. I thought the one last year was good, but the one this year was even better, because most of the dances had themes and were developed generally by more advanced student choreographers. As a result, the formations were mind-boggling and while not all the dancers were experienced, the overall effect was achieved to great effect.

On Saturday, I went to a Thai restaurant with my Thai friend and a New Yorker and we enjoyed really spicy curry with a discount + free rice due to my Thai friend :) Then we went grocery shopping (much need Ritz Bits, haha), enjoying ice-cream at the Ice Cream Smith where they sell awesome homemade ice-cream :D and went back to school. Half an hour later I helped the same friend to set up for his Thai booth in the bi-annual Culture Fest in Milton. People in different culture associations (like Latino Association, Asian Society, South East Asian Society, Jewish Student Union etc.) get booths and $50 (US dollars, of course) to buy food. Then everyone can enjoy food which they normally couldn't have. We got to taste some very very good snacks. People from the town of Milton also came and watched as we had local dancers come in and do traditional dances. Really awesome. Then, as if the day's events weren't enough, I then went to the Observatory in our school and watched the lunar eclipse and Saturn through the huge telescope. Easily one of the best days of my Milton career. The bubbly mood has even carried on to today :)

After that though, homework is all that I can look forward to until the start of Spring Break, which starts Thursday after school for us. And when we come back March 26th, school will be almost over. Can't say I'm not looking forward to summer as well :) oh well. Keep on wishing.

Btw, happy birthdays go to Michael (3/3), Rex (3/4) and Nick Oh (3/5). All 17, I believe?

(Sorry for the bad grammar and all the run-on sentences. I wrote this in 20 minutes.)

2007

With the new year comes even more challenges and difficult problems that must be solved. To me, January 1st of 2007 is just another day. Unlike my sister, who went out to Lan Kwai Fong, I didn't bother to celebrate a 10-second countdown if that requires 2 hours of transportation in total. I sat on the sofa, watching the 'celebrities' do their thing. Then I resumed packing.

I have a bout of stomach flu, I guess, that started on the flight to New York. Combined with the especially turbulent flight that the captain had warned us about in the beginning before we even took off, my stomach didn't really agree with my McDonalds' breakfast or Cathay Pacific lunch. Lucky that Chelsea was available to do everything for me :) thanks. The flu is still going on, as far as I know, as well as a sore throat and dizziness. I take it as a sign that my body doesn't want to go back to school again.

Anyway. Only 3 weeks (including this one) to the week long exam period and 3 months to Spring Break. 1derful.

Sorry for not updating for an eternity. Lots of things have happened since my last entry, but I have no wish to tell you all of it, for my hands will burn to a crisp before I have finished typing.

Anyway, I'm glad to know that most of you (except ctf, who has still the leisure to post on my chatbox in the pre-CE days) have commenced serious studying routines. May certainly seems like a long way from now, but when you're busy and stressed, time flies by. With some help from entertainment, of course

My decision to take 5 1/2 courses junior year (the hardest year of the four in high school) is probably not the brightest idea I've had, but nevertheless I'm still enjoying myself. English is challenging, as usual, with lots of homework (usually in the form of reading) everyday. Maths is fine - I'm lucky that I won't have to take A. Maths. I don't have much interest in U.S. History; indeed, if not for the fact that the course is part of the diploma requirement at Milton, I won't be taking it. Lots of reading per day. Exhausting. Spanish 2 is entertaining and fun. One of the faculty in the dormitory is my teacher for this year - this means easy problem-solving whenever I want. Topics in Psychology, the half course, meets only 2 times a week, so it's really fun and relaxed. The discussions in class really help everyone understand what the heck Freud was thinking. Chemistry is amazing. Remember Form 3? When we were learning acids and compound names and the periodic table and the atomic theory and whatnot? Well, we covered all of those (very nearly!) in two weeks flat. Therefore I have been able to take on Chemistry rather comfortably. I won't be able to say that a few weeks from now, though. Unfortunate.

A year spent in Milton has its advantages. Junior-dom (up from the sophomores) is a blast! This means no lights out (ngai yea, anybody?), possibly a seat during dorm meetings (normally you would get kicked out of the seats by juniors/seniors), higher social status and generally much more freedom. Such an improvement from last year. Don't even ask about the seniors :)

Weekends have been fine recently. Will, Nop, Tonantzin, Christine, Ivan, Anthony etc. and I got on the bus to Bertucci's (a way, way classier version of Pizza Hut) to be treated to a free dinner! Needless to say, we all got special drinks, an appetizer, an entree and a dessert. Cost the school a rough US$770, but who cares? We enjoyed ourselves.

The number of free periods have decreased sharply, however, down from the 7 I had last year to a measly 4. I knew I should've taken 5 courses like everybody else! Don't get me wrong - the classes are definitely interesting and absolutely fascinating. But free periods are lessons that everyone looks forward to. No argument there.

If you're so inclined to contact me, the email address is jonathan_tsang@milton.edu, same as last year - vapid. Gmail doesn't work. MSN doesn't work (despite what my display name says). Hotmail doesn't work. Google Talk... meh. Who uses that anyway?

NEWS: After I will be inevitably ignored during the coming Christmas break, I won't be coming back to Hong Kong again until late-July-ish. Enjoy your much-deserved post-CE vacations without me, OK? You ungrateful creatures. I despise you.

Later.

Papa Blues was so awesome! We had a full house yesterday in Ngau Chi Wan. Really happy to see all kinds of people laughing at our performance. The audience's laughter can really force out the potential in us, you know.

Brian - Very good la! The people loved you so much. Especially your pole dances and your sexy Rainbow dance. Great hair too, haha.

Sabrina - Very calm and steady! You really acted out the 'mother' inside you. Your realistic performance was fantastic! Nice job.

Harley - Though you were a bit OTT at times (actually all the time ), you really took the challenge to be a character that nobody had experience with before. Really appreciate what you did.

Lisa - I think the standing ovation in the end explains everything. Fantastic! You were a nice little girl who were just destined to bump into this bad guy. And you got flowers at the end :)

Matthew - You didn't seem to be nervous at all though you said you were. Great job! Plus you didn't really miss any lines. Or cues.

Nick - Really 'tui fai', nice! I liked your loosened tie messed up hair look. Suits you a lot I think.

Chris - Ging la! Remembered all your lines la wor! You set up for Brian perfectly and acted out your character perfectly.

Isaac - What can I say, hottie? You made Lisa unhappy?! How dare you! Great la, though you were 'er'-ed by last night's audience. :)

Eshan - LOVED your look. Though your green eyeshadow was obviously inferior to mine (haha), you were perfect as Abby. So MK.

The rest - Backstage crew, MAYDA JADA MONIQUE JASON FELIX DESIREE - you were marvelous! Thanks so much for everything.

I don't have ANY pictures because I was stupid enough to forget my camera, but hopefully someone could throw some at me.

PLEASE tell me if you want to see PIRATES and/or come over! I'm sooo free after the production. Call me whenever/wherever.

Ging happy lor gum yud! Just came back from a trip to Europe, and I jetlagged my way to the couch last night (or was it morning?) and enjoyed the World Cup final myself on the television with my dad in pjs and my sleepy sister. I must say that the Zidane headbutt was quite entertaining. Please excuse me, French fans, but that was really something. To end a career like that with a style that is so original brings instanteneous worldwide fame. If not notoriety.

Today I woke up at 1 when Jenny literally pulled me off the mattress while my fingernails left bloody clawmarks on my oh-so-lovely pillow (no more Milton cheapos!). I plopped down on a chair, still shocked over Italian victory (though I support them), and ate lunch. Fancy that. Hea-ed for the whole afternoon while thinking of the report-card distribution sights in DBS today. There must be some rejoicers and some suiciders out there; going to check them out after I post this. I'm willing to bet that Angus's post is like this:

Frenzypuff's World of Wonders                                      10 July 2006 Sunny (as always)

Today was a really eventful day - GOSH omg - first I followed my mum to get my report card. Ging nervous lor this year, didn't study much, nothing more than the usual 20 hour preparation session involving corporal punishment and eating fried food - ICK - really can't anticipate what position I get. Hai~ of course number 1 will go to "kui" la, hou nervous hou nervous! And when I finally get in there Mr. Lai (sorry don't know who your class teacher is ) is frowning at me! Imagine that - him! not smiling at me! Would this mean... would this be... the end of the world? NOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo (with the 'o's trailing off the screen for a dramatic finish)

OK maybe not that. Please don't get mad Angus  - just that you are particularly fun to tease. Couldn't help it. Well anyway I'm going to be treated to some phenomenal entries. I hope. From Jeffrey Tsang it will obviously be a thrilling day. Thrilling as in... I don't know. What would you feel if today was the last day that you were studying in DBS? Well excluding tomorrow of course. But that's not even a day. More like half. But a bit less if you count the precise seconds of the boring service. Well maybe more if you count the travelling time. Or maybe less if you were sleepwalking in. Does sleep count as existence?

This entry is not going anywhere so I'm not going to try to perfect it. I will be typing a HUGE photo essay about my trip you're all jealous about (except Jon Ng - if my memory does not betray me - you went on the Europe S.K.Y. tour too, right?) so look forward to that. And my very refined style has gone to ashes in this post due to a month-long hiatus (thank you Ms. Chuk! ) from Xanga. Partly due to holiday, but we're excluding that.

Well - the Superman Returns movie is coming out July 13 - anyone for that? And of course my beloved Johnny Depp in the fantabulous maravilloso Pirates movie! Opening don't know when. Definitely seeing that. But first. Angus's xanga entry. www.xanga.com/anguscmy <- click here!

P.S. (to Angus) Just saw your pro pics... gei hou wor! Especially the one where someone cut Isaac in half :)
